Darya Morozov, PhD, recently joined Vista Clara as Principal NMR Scientist.

Darya completed her doctorate in chemistry under supervision of Prof. Yoram Cohen at Tel Aviv University (Israel). Her dissertation focused on the development of novel advanced diffusion-based magnetic resonance (MR) methods to study structural properties of various biological tissues. Diffusion-based MR experiments can non-invasively quantify the displacement of particles inside the tissue of interest, thus providing important information about tissue microstructure. During her graduate studies, Darya received multiple scholarships and awards including the prestigious “Scholarship for Women in Science” from the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Space (Israel), and published many important papers contributing to the field of diffusion magnetic resonance. Her scientific works have been presented at international conferences and broadly appreciated.

Darya continued her postdoctoral research in pre-clinical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at Biomedical Magnetic Research Laboratory (BMRL), Washington University in Saint Louis. There, she used her knowledge and expertise in fundamental MR to develop novel non-invasive MR biomarkers to study tissue structural and functional changes. Darya gained extensive experience in managing multidisciplinary research and executing full life cycle research projects: from understanding and designing experimental pipeline to creating written and verbal presentations to the audience.

At Vista Clara, Darya will act as a principal investigator for Federally funded R&D projects. Darya will play a leading role in planning, executing, and communicating multiple R&D projects. In addition, she will manage and mentor junior R&D team members.

Darya hopes that her fresh perspective from the medical MRI, enthusiasm, and passion for research will contribute to the growing success of Vista Clara.
